SOLE AUSTRALIAN AGENT
CMA-800 COKE MOISTURE ANALYSER
Having access to high quality, real- time
information is fundamental to making informed processing
decisions and improving operational efficiency.
RTI deliver continuous on-line Moisture Measurement of Metallurgical
Coke as used in blast furnaces for iron ore smelting. Moisture is
one of several chemical components that are undesirable for iron ore
smelting. The process relies on the relation between dry mass of
coke and iron ore. Having the ability to measure moisture in coke
and thus calculate the amount added to the furnace charge allows
process engineers to best optimize the smelting process. The CMA 800
is an online moisture analyser using a neutron backscatter
techniques for determination of moisture in metallurgical coke and
other conductive materials. This technique relies on emitting ‘fast’
neutrons into coke or conducting material. The ‘fast’ neutrons will
impact with Hydrogen atoms in the water molecules and effectively
become thermal (slow) neutrons which are measured as backscattered
neutrons. The number of thermal neutrons measured by a detector is
proportional to the moisture content in the material being measured.
The CMA can be installed on hopper walls or on a moving conveyor.
[In either configuration, the CMA-800 offers moisture results in
COKE in real-time.]
